about

"I wrote this song for my sister Steffrie on her high school graduation day, and the memory of sharing with her on that day dear to me, but I had never recorded the song. Not for real. It was a fairly somber sounding song. But my sister likes happy beats and uplifting songs. So I've changed, it just a little. I hope you like it Steffrie... oh, and happy birthday!"

lyrics

I take it back
Maybe I'm not ready
Ready for today

The time has passed
Now you stand a woman
How'd you get that way?

Now we sit and laugh about the tears that you faced
'Cause every drop has bought a heart that's unchained

Sister when you go away
Leave a little here to stay
Nothing in the world could take the place of what you are today
Sister when you're far from home
Distant from the life you've known
These simple words are yours to hold: "I love you."

A work of art
Everything about you
Like twilight in the sky
And I hate this part
But I just can't withhold you from a world that needs your light
